Lygia is one of the few sports nutritionists in Eastern Europe that has completed the intensive International Olympic Committee Diploma in Sports Nutrition, awarded by the Medical Commission. 

Lygia Alexandrescu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Education and Kinesiology, Romanian American University, Bucharest Romania.

Lygia Alexandrescu is also the president of the Roumanian Society of Nutrition Education, a nutrition counseling institution that emphasizes a whole-person approach to health.
